Artistic Director of Deafinitely Theatre, Paula Garfield, today announces a new, site-specific production of Mike Bartlett's play Contractions as the company marks its 15th anniversary.

New Diorama Theatre have announced their 2017/18 season. Following a year which saw NDT win The Stage's Fringe Theatre of the Year Award 2017 and the 2016 Peter Brook Empty Space Award, this season is our best yet - full of premieres of new work from the UK's most exciting companies.

The 26th annual Dance for Life Chicago will exemplify Chicago's versatile and virtuoso dance community with the eight companies that are performing August 19 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. Chicago Dancers United (CDU), which mobilizes Chicago's dance community by raising funds through dance, presents this annual benefit performance, which is preceded by a gala reception at the Hilton Chicago.

If you happened to be on the subway this month and smelled something particularly fishy (not the usually kind of subway fishy) you may have been in the same car as a mermaid. Saturday, June 17th, 2017 marked the 35th Annual Mermaid Parade on Coney Island. That's right. One day a year, all the mermaids of Coney Island are magically granted feet and march down Surf Ave and the Boardwalk until they grow their fins back and return to their watery homes… Okay maybe not quite mermaids, but close! Thousands of artists, and mermaid enthusiasts march in the parade every year. Over 3,000 Seashell clad individuals strolled, danced, and rolled down Surf Ave this year. It began pouring rain before the parade and several times during. Luckily, it is the Mermaid Parade, so a little water wasn't a problem for the marchers.

The Philly POPS announced today that it will perform a one-night-only concert with the internationally-acclaimed artist Rufus Wainwright. The Philly POPS Presents Rufus Wainwright will be held on January 19, 2018 at the Kimmel Center.

Coney Island USA's 35th Annual Mermaid Parade will begin at 1 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017. The parade starts at the corner of West 21st Street and Surf Avenue, and proceeds east on Surf Avenue to West 10th Street, where it turns south to the Boardwalk, and then north back to Steeplechase Plaza, where it concludes.

The Public Theater has announced that a special one-night-only reading and discussion, PUBLIC FORUM: YOUNG RADICALS has been added to the spring Public Forum line-up on Thursday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the The Public's Martinson Hall.

The Public Theater continued its 2017 Spring Public Forum with a four-night FESTIVAL OF SONGWRITING over the weekend at Joe's Pub with Public Forum Director Michael Friedman, exploring the exciting work of composers and musicians - what it is that they do when they write a song and how they make their own particular brand of magic. Nick Kroll turned to Twitter today to announce the news that Broadway's OH HELLO! in which he co-starred with John Mulaney, will debut on Netflix on June 13th.

LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts will present the world premiere of Articles of Faith, a new, autobiographical performance work by the acclaimed interdisciplinary theater artist Cynthia Hopkins, June 15-17 at The Kitchen, as part of the second annual LUMBERYARD in the City festival. Hopkins created Articles of Faith in collaboration with designer Jeff Sugg after the destruction of her home, work studio, records and materials in a May 2015 fire.

Two exciting shows will cap The Town Hall's Spring 2017 presenting season, already the venue's most extensive and wide-ranging season to date.
