FIDDLER ON THE ROOF has just announced that it will play its final performance on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. At the time of closing, Fiddler on the Roof will have played a total of 464 performances.

On Monday, July 11, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart. Iglehart made his Broadway debut in 2007 as Mitch in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. In 2009 he originated the role of Bobby in the Tony Award winning Best Musical, MEMPHIS.

On Broadway, Burstein's appearances have included A Little Hotel on the Side (1992), Yakov in The Seagull (1992-93), in Saint Joan and Three Men on a Horse (both in 1993), Paul in Company (1995), 1st Officer William Murdoch in Titanic (1997-99), Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone (2006-07), Luther Billis in South Pacific (2008-10), and Taxi Driver in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (2010-11). He played the role of Buddy Plummer in the Kennedy Center production of Follies, which went on to play Broadway's Marquis Theatre and LA's Ahmanson Theatre. He is currently starring in the Roundabout revival of Cabaret, for which he earned a 2014 Tony nomination.

It's just a handful of hours until the 70th annual Tony Awards, and New York City and theatre fans across the world are excitedly buzzing about this year's ceremonies which will be broadcast live on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 8/7c on CBS. This Broadway season has some exciting contenders in the musical categories, and to get you ready for the big night, I'm recapping the albums you should be listening to (or at least pre-ordering).

This June, the city is alive with the familiar sound of Rodgers and Hammerstein's iconic music. Making their rounds on a critically-acclaimed national tour, the latest production of The Sound of Music plays the Cadillac Palace Theatre until June 19. This memorable limited engagement brings audiences the classic tale of a free-spirited nun and her chance encounter with a hard-hearted captain and his seven children. Broadway veteran and Disney actor Merwin Foard (Max Detweiler) gives us the inside scoop on bringing this unforgettable story back to life.

Before Broadway's biggest night this Sunday, June 12th, 36 productions will have opened on Broadway in the 2015-16 season. Of those productions, 18 are nominated for Tony Awards this year, and 94 of the actors and creative teams in those productions will walk the red carpet on Sunday as nominees.
