The Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS 25th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition has just wrapped at the Minskoff Theatre! The first acts were presented yesterday, April 25, with the show continuing today, Tuesday, April 26. The proceeds from the event will benefit BC/EFA.

Yesterday, April 25, Daniel Radcliffe celebrated his cover of Gotham Magazine at Salon De Ning at the Peninsula Hotel in New York City. The magazine is out on newsstands this week. In the magazine, he talks about learning to become a song and dance man, why New York is 'cool' and why an English accent can get you far in America.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, announced their 2010-11 nominations this morning.

Both actors are previous winners of The Drama League's Distinguished Performance Award. When the 1920s crooner heartthrob Rudy Vallee made his return to Broadway in the 1961 original production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, he wasn't exactly known as an actor, and certainly not known as a comedian who might excel in a scalding satire of the ups and downs of the corporate ladder.  So when director Abe Burrows guided him through the role of J.B. Biggley, the feared and revered President of World-Wide Wickets, he gave him specific instructs... don't be funny.  Since the brilliant comic scribe Burrows was also writing the book for How To Succeed... (starting from Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert's straight play draft) he knew exactly how to surround the star with daffy characters and plant him into silly situations while keeping him obliviously normal.  By not really giving a performance, but by being Rudy Vallee saying lines and singing songs, the used-to-be has-been had audiences rolling with laughter.

The 50th Anniversary production of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, starring Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette, will get a new cast recording from Decca Broadway. The album, produced by five-time Grammy nominee Robert Sher, was recorded by the cast and orchestra on Monday, April 11 at the legendary Manhattan Center in New York City and will be released on iTunes Tuesday, May 24 and in stores on Tuesday, June 7. Broadway Across America today announced the company's Austin 2011-2012 Season, extending from September 2011 to June 2012 at Texas Performing Arts' Bass Concert Hall, with select performances at The Long Center.
