THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE, the world premiere of a three part theatrical event by the late Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Horton Foote, will feature a company of 22 actors under the direction of Michael Wilson. Variety reports that the stage adaptation of 'The Shawshank Redemption' that played at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre will get a West End run in the fall. Based on the Stephen King novella that also inspired the 1994 movie version of 'Shawshank', the plot centers on the friendship two men develop over their time as inmates in a notoriously tough prison.

Legendary actor, director, writer and producer Jerry Lewis will make his theatrical directorial debut on Broadway with the new musical, ?THE NUTTY PROFESSOR?, based on the 1963 film that he starred in and co-wrote. With music by Academy Award, Emmy Award, Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Marvin Hamlisch and a book and lyrics by multiple Tony Award winner and Grammy Nominee Rupert Holmes, the musical is aiming for a bow on Broadway in the 2010/2011 season and is being produced by Loud Watch Productions, LLC.

Broadway Tony winning director John Doyle (?Sweeney Todd,? ?Company?) makes his feature film debut, with Oscar nominee Don McAlpine (?Moulin Rouge,? ?X-Men Origins: Wolverine?) behind the camera as director of photography. Bookings are currently open for performances until 26 September 2009.

Original and current cast members from the West End stage production of Mamma Mia! will share their stories and experiences of the musical as part of a 10th annual documentary Called Mamma Mia!-The Real Story. The documentary is being made by USP Content and broadcast by Guardian Media Group's Smooth Radio and Real Radio networks. It will be released in March. The piece will also include stories and contributions from the production's writer Catherine Johnson. In it Johnson will discuss her original ideas for the show and how much she pushed to retain control of the film version with Meryl Streep. Streep will also be featured in the two part documentary.
