The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, announces the winners of the fifth annual Choreographers of Color Award: Jennifer Archibald, Abdul Latif and Stephanie Martinez. This announcement follows a national call for artists to submit applications, which began in July.

The Encores! Special Event The Band Wagon is set to star Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell, seven-time Emmy Award winner Tracey Ullman, Academy Award nominee Michael McKean, Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes, Tony Award nominee Tony Sheldon, Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse and Don Stephenson. The Collegiate Chorale presents the New York City premiere of Eric Idle and John Du Prez's Not The Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) at Carnegie Hall, December 15-16, 2014 at 8pm.

Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Concert Series at the Parker Playhouse produced by Mark Cortale will welcome Audra McDonald -- the historic six-time Tony winner and star of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Porgy and Bess, Ragtime, and Master Class as well as TV's Private Practice, on January 8, 2015; followed by Cheyenne Jackson -- star of TV's 30 Rock and Glee and Broadway's Damn Yankees and Xanadu on February 14; and Sutton Foster -- two-time Tony winner for Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie and star of ABC's Bunheads and the new TV Land series Younger debuting on March 20. Each concert will feature Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host. What differentiates the series from any other is the seamless mix of intimate behind-the-scenes stories from Broadway's biggest stars -- prompted by the encyclopedic-minded Rudetsky's probing, funny, revealing questions -- and their stellar singing of Broadway show tunes.

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club invites you to join Tracy McDowell (Motown, RENT, The Next Big Thing) as she shares the story of her life thus far and the music that got her through it. From Scary Au Pairs from Germany, to mental breakdowns, family drama, sex, addiction, quitting the biz, then not quitting the biz, and everything else crazy that has made her who she is today. She has the proof.

BalletCollective will present two world premiere ballets that showcase the company's commitment to artistic collaboration tonight and tomorrow, October 29 and 30 at NYU Skirball Center, 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square. The program will include the company's The Impulse Wants Company (2013). All pieces will be accompanied by live music and feature lighting design by Brandon Stirling Baker.

2Y announces casting for Lyrics & Lyricists 2015, the 45th season of the acclaimed American Songbook series. Cady Huffman, Liz Callaway, Kate Baldwin, Peter Cincotti and Jason Danieley are among the performers interpreting the works of Stephen Sondheim; Irving Berlin; Sheldon Harnick; and such songwriters as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and Leonard Bernstein, who so eloquently illuminated New York City's essence in song. Mitzi Gaynor makes a special guest appearance for the show on Hollywood's Leading Ladies - only the fourth time the legendary entertainer has performed in New York City.

Conductor Todd Ellison is quite possibly one of the busiest men in the industry right now. His involvement in the fast-approaching production of THE BAND WAGON with Encores!, a Christmas concert with the Pittsburgh Symphony, and his own staged musical in March, only begin to scratch the surface of his hectic schedule for the next six months. Fortunately for us, he recently took the time to sit down and discuss these as well as prior engagements.

Encores! Celebrates Rodgers and Hammerstein and Hart, New York City Center's annual Gala tonight, October 27, 2014, will feature the music and lyrics of Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, and Lorenz Hart, sung by some of Broadway's finest talent, includingKate Baldwin, Kelli O'Hara, Laura Osnes, Steven Pasquale, and Paulo Szot, and with dance performances by Irina Dvorovenko, Chase Finlay, Jared Grimes, and Lauren Lovette.

Hilda Green Demsky, a Fulbright Fellow, recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts grant and winner of the Andy Warhol Visual Arts Residency, has had an extensive, multi-faceted career focusing on the ebb and flow of her life. From the Pennsylvania coal mines of her youth, to our polluted waterways, to the cosmos, to the parks of New York and New England (Artist-in-Residence at Acadia National Park), Ms. Demsky shares the highlights of her career as a fine artist in this 60-year retrospective exhibition. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art & Design, Ms. Demsky began paintings of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Company, which were exhibited at City Center Gallery and Lincoln Center. Travel has been a big influence in her outpouring of canvases, as she received numerous art residencies, awards and fellowships from all over the world creating landscape, abstract and environmental paintings. Her outer space artworks were inspired by an invitation to witness a launch at the NASA Space Center in Florida after receiving the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship. Her exhibition at the National Gallery of Costa Rica reflected her love of painting 'en plein air' on canvas and Mylar. A resident of Larchmont, NY, Ms. Demsky has been a member of the Mamaroneck Artists Guild for 42 years and is a member of the Katonah Museum Art Association, the Pen & Brush, and National Association of Women's Artists. The book, 'Hilda Green Demsky: The Flow of the Artist's Life and Work,' containing her biography and more than 100 color photographs of her paintings, will accompany this exhibition. TV's Dallas meets Chekhov in Richard Pearson Thomas' new comic opera 'A Wake or a Wedding,' receiving its New York premiere by Encompass New Opera Theatre, Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director, November 6-16 at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue. The sophisticated farce, with music and libretto by Thomas, will be performed by an ensemble of eight superb singers starring Joy Hermalyn, whose credits include Broadway productions of Candide, Cyrano, Fiddler on the Roof, Baz Luhrmann's La Bohene, and numerous City Center Encores!, to name a few. She leads an exceptional cast who have appeared with opera companies in the U.S. and abroad. The chamber orchestra, Ionization New Music Group, will be conducted by Encompass Music Director Mara Waldman.

New York, NY, October 23, 2014– UPDATE: Troy Schumacher, Artistic Director of BalletCollective, will now be performing with the company on October 29 and 30 at NYU Skirball Center. Mr. Schumacher is replacing Harrison Coll, who has sustained a minor injury and is unable to perform.

Tonight, October 24 at 7:30pm, Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street -- between Rivington & Delancey) will proudly present the World-Premiere presentation and Special Equity Showcase production of MAMA ROSE, a solo performance art/experimental play with music about Rose Waits, a woman from Buffalo who could have ruled the world if they had let her.

THE LAST SHIP - the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting and book by Tony Award winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey opens tonight, October 26. The Last Ship is directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and choreographed by Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Steven Hoggett.
