On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, two-time Tony and Emmy Award winner Bebe Neuwirth returns to the scene of the crime, where the gin is cold and the piano's hot: Broadway's record-breaking smash-hit musical CHICAGO.

It's Broadway's long-running shows that keep Times Square bustling year-round with theatre-goers from around the world who are making it to the Great White Way for their first time. Chicago just celebrated its 17th anniversary on Broadway, having played over 7070 performances.

Highlights this week include 24 Hour Broadway, the opening of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and The Commons of Pensacola, as well as Chicago's 17th birthday!

On Thursday night, the cast of Chicago, including Bianca Marroquin, Amra-Faye Wright, Ryan Silverman, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Roz Ryan celebrated the show's 17th year on Broadway with a special cake-cutting. Last night, November 10, Tony Award winner Billy Porter was honored at the NYMF 10th Anniversary Gala, presented at the Hudson Theatre. The special event also celebrated 10 years of creating and nurturing new musical theatre under the leadership of NYMF Co-Founder Isaac Robert Hurwitz. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the full slate of talent from the musical theatre set to appear at the NYMF 10th Anniversary Gala, presented at the Hudson Theatre on Sunday, November 10th.

Beginning Monday, October 28, Broadway's Tony Award-winning, record-breaking smash hit musical CHICAGO will welcome two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald in the starring role of Roxie's all-but-invisible husband, 'Mister Cellophane' Amos Hart.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2013-14 Conservatory Awards, which recognizes and honors outstanding alumni of A.C.T.'s award-winning actor training program and pays tribute to donors and organizations who have provided significant support to the Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program Scholarship Fund. The third annual Conservatory Awards luncheon raises necessary funding for M.F.A. Program scholarships while celebrating A.C.T.'s accomplishments with award winners and current M.F.A. Program students. The winners of the five awards to be presented are Emmy Award-nominated actor and A.C.T. M.F.A. Program honorary graduate Harry Hamlin, who receives The Edward Hastings Career Achievement Award; actress of stage and screen Heidi Armbruster, who receives The Rising Star Award; actor and Shakespeare Iraq drama teacher Peter Friedrich, who receives the Contribution to the Field Award; Joan W. Sadler, who receive The Benefactor Award; and Wells Fargo, which receives The Champion Award. The Drama Desk Award-winning Celebrity Autobiography will return tonight, September 28 at the Boulton Center for Performing Arts (37 West Main St., Bay Shore) at 8 pm, and on Monday, September 30 at Stage 72 (formerly The Triad, 158 W. 72nd Street) at 7 pm.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Conservatory Director Melissa Smith announced today that A.C.T.'s Tony Award-winning theater and training institution has launched The San Francisco Semester, an all-new study away program bringing undergraduate students from across the country into an active, ongoing engagement with the eclectic and energetic arts community of San Francisco and the Bay Area. With a focus on the practical aspects of the craft of acting and life in the professional theater, the 15-week program features a 17-credit core curriculum enhancing students' undergraduate study with rigorous, upper-level classes in acting styles, voice/dialects, physical theater, and devised (student-created) work. A.C.T. joins the ranks of such other distinguished study away programs as La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and the National Theater Institute. The inaugural San Francisco Semester begins September 2014.

Billy Porter, 2013 Tony Award Winner for Best Actor in a Musical (Kinky Boots) surprised students of Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive Session One with his appearance on July 25th. Porter entertained the students with tales of his experiences. In addition, he participated in a Q&A, answering student's questions and providing advice for young performers. Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert visited students at Broadway Artists Alliance Alumni Session to share his journey from young actor to Tony Award Winner. Earlier this year, Ebert won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical. Scroll down for photos from the event!
