Birdland Jazz Club has announced their brilliant line-up of marvelous talent for the month of October 2013. Birdland will kick-off their electrifying month of programming with the following acts:

Just last night, musical comedienne & impressionist Christine Pedi (NEWSical the Musical, Forbidden Broadway, Chicago) brought her favorite funny friends together to shake & stir up some hysterical comedy concoctions (musical & otherwise) at 54 Below. Silly songs and other diversions from some of the wildest wits on & off Broadway make it an incredibly happy hour & late night laugh lounge.

Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular 'Backstage' with Susie Mosher is 15:54, and more:

'Count' Basie, one of the pre-eminent jazz pianists in the country, nicknamed Grammy nominated pianist Judy Carmichael 'Stride,' acknowledging the command with which she plays this technically and physically demanding jazz piano style. Stephen Holden of the New York Times called Steve Ross the 'Crown Prince of New York Cabaret.' Tonight, September 7th at 8p.m. for one night only, this 'royal' duo of jazz and cabaret come together on the HARMAN Stage to kick off the Courtyard by Marriott Stamford Broadway/Cabaret/Jazz Series 'Perfect Pairs at The Palace.' This series is also sponsored by Norman Drubner.

NEWSical The Musical is the forever changing, completely un-sanitized musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof. From Honey Boo Boo to Paula Deen, Andrew Weiner to A-Rod, marriage equality to Kim and Kanye's baby North West, NEWSical The Musical sets all of today's biggest pop culture headlines to song. Due to a scheduling conflict, jazz vocalist Hilary Kole will replace Cyrille Aimee at the November 13th performance with Freddy Cole. Christine Pedi performed recently at French Woods Summer camp for a one night concert. With Michael Martin Ward at the piano, Pedi sang all her famous tunes. Christine Pedi has a long association with the satirical revue Forbidden Broadway and a Drama Desk nomination for Forbidden Hollywood, having played both shows in New York, London and around the world.
