In an effort to broaden opportunities for women playwrights, Project Y Theatre Company has commissioned nine female playwrights in two separate productions, Great Again, an evening of plays by Crystal Skillman and Chiori Miyagawa, and The Hrosthvitha Project, 7 adaptations of the 10th century female-written play 'Dulcitius' written by playwrights Caridad Svich, Pia Wilson, Julienne Hairston, Michole Biancosino, Lia Romeo, Stacie Lents, and Erin Mallon.

Project Y Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of GREAT AGAIN, an evening of plays in two parts: The Test by Crystal Skillman (directed by Jessi D. Hill) and In the Line by Chiori Miyagawa (directed by Kristin Horton and choreographed by Sonoko Kawahara). This double bill of new plays was commissioned by Project Y Theatre Company, written as a response to the November 2016 election and presented as the centerpiece of the 2nd Annual Women in Theatre Festival dedicated to broadening opportunities for women playwrights. GREAT AGAIN runs through June 24 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres with opening set for Tuesday, June 6. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast onstage below!

Rep Stage Honored with Award from International Centre for Women Playwrights

The International Centre for Women Playwrights has honored Rep Stage with its 50/50 Applause Award, which is given to theaters that produce fifty percent or more plays by women playwrights in their 2015-2016 season. Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), only produced work by women playwrights during the 2015-2016 season, including participating in the DC Women's Voices Theatre Festival. Rep Stage is among 107 theatres around the world to receive the 50/50 Applause Award.
