Bringing down the curtain on State Theatre Company's 2014 season is a brand new production of one of Shakespeare's most famous tragedies. Resident Director Nescha Jelk will make her main stage debut, helming a contemporary, adrenaline-fuelled take on Othello.

Beginning 8 July 2014, Dominique Levy gallery will present a collaborative artists' project inspired by the work of Italian ConceptualistGiulio Paolini. Titled 'Hypothesis for an Exhibition' and curated by Begum Yasar, the project is comprised of two components: The first is an exhibition of work by Paolini and a dozen New York artists and collectives paying tribute to his ideas. The second component is a publication designed by Studio Manuel Raeder. In addition to Paolini, participating artists include Richard Aldrich, Harold Ancart, Sebastian Black, Kerstin Bratsch, GuytonWalker, KAYA, Charles Mayton, Seth Price, Josh Smith, R.H. Quaytman, Antek Walczak, and Viola Ye?iltac.
Orion Ensemble Closes Season at Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall, 6/1

Concluding its season of 'Musical Travels,' The Orion Ensemble, winner of the prestigious Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, showcases music from three countries. Performances take place at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Charles May 25, the PianoForte Studios in Chicago May 28 and the Music Institute of Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston June 1.

Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, announced today that the inaugural exhibition of the newly renovated Costume Institute in spring 2014 will examine the career of legendary 20th-century Anglo-American couturier Charles James (1906-1978). Charles James: Beyond Fashion, on view from May 8 through August 10, 2014 (preceded on May 5 by The Costume Institute Benefit), will be presented in two locations-The Costume Institute's new galleries as well as special exhibitions galleries on the Museum's first floor.

Charles James: Beyond Fashion, on view from May 8 through August 10, 2014 (preceded on May 5 by The Costume Institute Benefit), will be presented in two locations–The Costume Institute's new galleries as well as special exhibitions galleries on the Museum's first floor. The exhibition will explore James's design process and his use of sculptural, scientific, and mathematical approaches to construct revolutionary ball gowns and innovative tailoring that continue to influence designers today.

THE DIVINE SISTER, the hit comedy written by and starring Charles Busch, will play its final performance on Sunday, May 1 at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). The show is ending its run due to previous commitments from several members of the cast. On May 1, THE DIVINE SISTER will have played 253 regular performances and 9 previews making it one of the longest running hits of Busch's Off-Broadway career.
