AMERICAN IDOL's dueling divas showdown came to an exhilarating close last night as Candice Glover was crowned the winner during the live two-hour season finale on FOX.

Country music icon and American Idol star Carrie Underwood will portray the role of Maria von Trapp in NBC's upcoming live holiday broadcast of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. The network announced today that the show, executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, will premiere on Thursday, December 5, 2013.
