Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Robin and the 7 Hoods - A New Musical featuring a book by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes and songs by four-time Academy Award winners Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen. Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with musical supervision and vocal and incidental arrangements by John McDaniel, the Broadway-bound musical comedy will run in the Old Globe Theatre July 14 - August 22.

When someone mentions Little House on the Prairie, most people think instantly of the iconic television program, little Laura Ingalls twirling in the field or that unforgettable theme song. But what about the real people behind those memorable characters, and their tough life on the prairie with all its struggles and joys? That is what theatergoers who come to see Little House on the Prairie at the Fox Theatre will experience, as they live the stories of the Ingalls family on stage in this new musical based on the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. And joyfully leading this stage family will be Melissa Gilbert (Ma) and Steve Blanchard, who plays Charles "Pa" Ingalls in this refreshing new production which comes to the Fox June 15 - 20. I had the chance to talk with Steve about the role, his experience with the show and how he has made a deep and personal connection with this truly remarkable man of the land.

Sherie Rene Scott has starred in some of the biggest shows on Broadway - she's played Amneris in Aida, Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Marty in Grease, Maureen in Rent and Ursula in The Little Mermaid. Currently, Scott is starring in Everyday Rapture, which she has co-written with Dick Scanlan. Everyday Rapture opened on April 29th, and is set to close on July 11th. The production also had an off-Broadway run at the Second Stage Theatre in 2009. BroadwayWorld Reporter Nick Orlando spoke with Scott about the transfer from off-Broadway to Broadway, and character Sherie versus real-life Sherie.

Surprisingly, this quaint account of a family struggling to settle the prairie actually has potential and could be successful in the live, musical theatre format. However, multiple production problems prevent this national tour from realizing that goal.
