LA Opera to Premiere ANATOMY THEATER

LA Opera's 30th Anniversary Season will conclude with the world premiere of Anatomy Theater, opening on June 16. Created by Pulitzer Prize-winning and Academy Award-nominated composer David Lang, who co-wrote the libretto with Mark Dion, the new work is presented at REDCAT (631 West 2nd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012) as part of the LA Opera Off Grand series. The presentation is part of a multi-season collaboration between LA Opera and Beth Morrison Projects to present cutting-edge contemporary works.

Mercury to Conclude 15th Anniversary Season with Beethoven's Ninth

Artistic Director Antoine Plante and Mercury close out a celebratory 15th Anniversary Season with Beethoven's monumental Ninth Symphony on Saturday, May 14 at 8 PM at the Wortham Center's Cullen Theater. Mercury presents this joyful and triumphant masterpiece on period instruments, as audiences would have heard at its premiere in 1824, alongside vocalists Mary Wilson (soprano), Sarah Mesko (alto), Zachary Wilder (tenor) and Tyler Duncan (baritone). Also joining the performance are select members of the Houston Symphony Chorus under the direction of Betsy Cook Weber. This performance is the culmination of Mercury's five-year Beethoven symphony cycle, described as the 'Mount Everest' of the orchestral repertoire. The evening also includes select opera arias by Vivaldi featuring each of the guest soloists. Carnegie Hall's 'Link Up' Program Expands Worldwide; Concerts Set for NYC This May

For over 30 years, Link Up-a hands-on curriculum that invites students in grades 3 to 5 to make and explore music-has culminated in springtime, interactive children's concerts for thousands of New York City students who are invited to come together at Carnegie Hall. More recently, Carnegie Hall has also provided this program free-of-charge to over 80 orchestra partners across the United States and abroad, reaching many more thousands of children who join together to make music in their own communities. The Link Up curriculum and concert program was developed by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute.

N'Kenge (Motown: The Musical, Sondheim on Sondheim), returns to Oklahoma City Philharmonic as a featured soloist to perform in the concert "All That Jazz: A Symphonic Celebration of the Duo Kander and Ebb.' The Philharmonic with conductor Joel Levine will take audiences on a musical journey showcasing the musical genius of this Tony Award Winning Duo featuring songs from their hit shows Cabaret, Chicago, Scottsboro boys and more. N'Kenge will be joined by Tony award winner Beth Leavel, Jersey Boys's Kirsten Scott, Phantom of the Opera's Tedd Keegan and Concert Soloist Ron Remke.
