Women's voices headline the Centenary Stage Company (CSC) 2015-16 season, with plays by Jennifer Haley, Gina Gionfriddo, newcomer Eleanor Burgess, and WPS alum Merri Biechler. The CSC season compliments a movement lead by Nan Barnett (NNPN) and the Women's Voices Theatre Festival in Washington D.C. this fall, serving to highlight the scope of plays being written by contemporary women.

Centenary Stage Company to Offer TYRO I and II Acting Program This Summer

Centenary Stage Company continues their tradition of nurturing young artists by offering the TYRO I and II Acting Program this summer June 29 - July 10. As part of the CSC's mission to introduce and develop arts in education with the community, TYRO I and II is a two - week theatre arts program that meets daily and is designed specifically for young thespians ages 6 - 11 years of age. Using structured theatre activities which focus on expression, confidence building and fun, young thespians will learn acting games and demonstrate improvisations inspired by popular fairy and folk tales. TYRO I is specifically designed for students 6 - 8 years of age and meets daily from 9:30am to 12:00pm through the two week session. TYRO II developed to engage students 9 - 11 years of age meets daily from 1:00pm to 3:30pm during the two week session. Tuition for the two week program is $200.00 per student and the deadline for registration is June 15, 2015.

Centenary Stage Company's Young Performers work tirelessly to perfect their dance moves, learn all of their lines, and get their vocal harmonies just right for the culmination of their training session and this spring is no exception! These talented young thespians between the ages of 8 and 18 will fill the Little Theater with a variety of shows and musicals to entertain audiences of all ages May 29th - June 7th with their annual Spring Festival of Shows. The Young Performers Workshop (YPW) has been hailed as a "state treasure" by Peter Filichia of the Star Ledger and brings in youth from Morris, Warren, Hunterdon and Sussex counties. This spring, the festival will feature How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Gypsy, and American Sampler: 100 Years of Broadway Dance. Performances will be held on select dates in the Little Theatre on the campus of Centenary College at 400 Jefferson Street in Hackettstown.

Centenary Stage Company Receives Holiday Sponsorship

The Centenary Stage Company located in Hackettstown, NJ received a sponsorship in the amount of $750 from Robert F. Browne, Sr. Vice President-Investment Officer of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC. The sponsorship enabled 23 local ARC/Morris group home consumers from Chester, Mt. Olive, Washington Township, and Randolph to attend CSC's holiday musical on Friday, December 5.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and love is in the air at Centenary Stage Company, or some form of it anyway in this season's laugh-out-loud comedy The Liar by Pierre Corneille, adapted for modern audiences by David Ives. Running tonight, February 21st through March 9th at The Lackland Center, this story of mistaken identity and half-truths has delighted audiences and critics time and again. The Wall Street Journal says, 'I laughed so hard that I was sore the next day...By wedding [Ives'] verbal prestidigitation to Corneille's mistaken-identity plot, Mr. Ives has come up with a play in which the laughs flow freely and joyously.'
