DANCENOW is pleased to announce the lineup for the 2014 DANCENOW Joe's Pub Festival. Featuring works by forty choreographers and their companies, the 2014 festival will be held over four evenings from September 3 to 6, with an encore performance on September 13. The exciting lineup of artists features many fan favorites, including festival veterans and returning artists, alongside rising stars and festival newcomers. 2014 marks the 19th annual season of the DANCENOW Festival.

Broadway's most daring, curious, and talented artists are preparing to gather at Cielo for the Fall 2013 BC Beat on Monday November 11th, the showcase and dance party with it's own rules for sharing work and connecting artists. Doors open at 7pm and guests are welcomed by the evening's choreographers, Charlie Sutton, Cindy Salgado, Caleb Teicher, Kyle Mullins, Tricia Brouk, Josh Assor, Rickey Tripp, Jennifer Jancuska, and performers including Daniel Watts, Jennifer Locke, Ephraim Sykes, Aurelia Michael, Voltaire Wade-Greene, Masi Yahya James, Amber Jackson, Elizabeth Burke, Macy Sullivan, Ryan VanDenBoom, Matthew Steffens, Heather Hamilton, Shiloh Goodin, Liz Piccoli, Paul Romero, Borris York, Rachel Guest, Matthew Oaks and Michael Williams as Broadway veteran Justin Johnson curates music.

Terence Marling, Director of Hubbard Street 2 (HS2) and Hubbard Street Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton announce today the two winners of the 14th annual National Choreographic Competition (NCC), a program of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago's Choreographic Development Initiative. 2013 winners Loni Landon of New York City and Alex Soares of São Paulo, Brazil, will each create an original work in fall 2013 while in residence at Chicago's Hubbard Street Dance Center. Both new works receive their world premieres in early 2014, at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts in Bloomington, Illinois.

The program features the world premiere of Uri Sands' Feather and Bone, inspired by the work of Canadian photographer Gregory Colbert, as well as favorites from the company's repertory, including Camille Brown's Strum (2012), and Sands' Amusement of the Gods (2010).

The Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire was awarded the Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2011-2012 Season from Actors' Equity Association (AEA) on Tuesday. The show, produced by Front Row Productions (Stephen Byrd, Alia Jones-Harvey), received the honor at a presentation at Equity headquarters. Christine Toy Johnson and Julia Breanetta Simpson (AEA Co-chairs Eastern Regional Equal Employment Opportunity Committee) presented the award, which turns the spotlight onto those doing exemplary work to promote the goals of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity in theatre.

Actors' Equity Association (Equity) announced today that the Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE has been selected as the recipient of its Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2011-2012 Season. The Diversity Award will be presented at a reception prior to Equity's National Council Meeting at the Equity headquarters in New York City on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 12:30PM EST.

The acclaimed Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Emily Man has cancelled its previously announced summer extension, and will now take its final Broadway bow on its original closing date- July 22. BroadwayWorld has learned that the show might be moving to London, aiming for a Fall 2012 opening.

A Streetcar Named Desire today announced that it will offer a limited number of student rush tickets for $29.50. Tickets will be available at the box office on the day of the performance, and each current student ID is eligible for two tickets. Streetcar began performances on Tuesday, April 3, and will open on Sunday, April 22, 2012.
