Today we are analyzing all aspects of the hotly anticipated concert event that occured at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall on Monday featuring an all-star cast performing Jason Robert Brown and Alfred Uhry's Tony Award-winning score and book - the Manhattan Concert Productions presentation of PARADE. Outlining his involvement in the unique theatrical event is acclaimed and versatile Tony Award-winning set designer Beowulf Boritt, who opens up about the exciting and idiosyncratic nature of a one night only event such as this as well as the opportunities available in designing for such a spectacular evening in order to bring his artistic vision to fruition. In addition to a thorough discussion of the themes and actual real history elemental to the musical itself and how Boritt has integrated those features into the visual landscape of the piece, he also sheds some light on the intensive design process and intimate collaboration with director Gary Griffin, composer/lyricist/conductor Brown, projection designer Jeff Croiter and lighting designer Jon Weston. Also, Boritt offers a first look at his inspiration for the design elements being created especially for the evening and how he is utilizing vintage photographs and actual historical pieces to maximize authenticity and accuracy in portraying the musical based on a true story occurring in 1915. All of that and much, much more in this expansive design-focused special feature with one of Broadway's brightest behind the scenes visionaries.

The School of Theatre at Florida State University presents Ragtime, written by Terrence McNally with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and based on the novel 'Ragtime' by E.L. Doctorow. Ragtime will be directed by Fred Chappell, head of the MFA Directing program at Florida State University. The show features a musical selection as diverse as New York City, from the ragtime rhythms of Harlem to the bold brass band and up-tempo banjo tunes characterizing America at the turn of the century.

Home Street Home, a new musical, will play an 11-performance run between February 20 - March 7, 2015 at Z Space, located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the producers announced today. Home Street Home features music by punk legend Fat Mike (NOFX), lyrics by Fat Mike, Jeff Marx (Tony Award winner, Avenue Q) & Goddess Soma (AVN Award winning writer/director), and book by Goddess Soma & Fat Mike. Producers of the new political comedy Tail! Spin!, which opened to rave reviews on October 1 at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project have announced a 9-week extension of the run, now scheduled through February 1. (The previous closing date was set for November 30.)

The sold-out limited engagement of director Jennifer DeLia's fresh take on Scott Organ's play PHOENIX, starring Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Julia Stiles and James Wirt, has been extended by popular demand for four additional performances. PHOENIX will play the additional performances Monday, August 25 at 8pm, Tuesday, August 26 at 8pm, Wednesday, August 27 at 8pm and Thursday, August 28 at 8pm.

Directed by Jennifer DeLia, PHOENIX begins performances at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) Monday, July 28.
