King's Head Theatre Announces New Production of Paul Boakye's BOY WITH BEER

???????The King's Head Theatre today announces a new production of Paul Boakye's Boy with Beer, directed by Harry Mackrill, 25 years after the original production at the Man in the Moon Theatre. Enyi Okoronkwo plays Donovan and Chin Nyenwe plays Karl in the production, which also features new music from Taurean Antoine Chagar, regular collaborator of acclaimed drum and bass group Rudimental. It opens at the King's Head Theatre, on 11 November, with previews from 8 November, running until 26 November.
Nigel Lindsay Joins Sarah Ridgeway in HighTide's Production of Al Smith's Debut Play: HARROGATE

Casting was announced today for the HighTide production of Al Smith's debut play Harrogate. Nigel Lindsay joins Sarah Ridgeway, who starred in the original production at HighTide Festival 2015, for the London premiere at the Royal Court Theatre from 20 - 29 October and UK Tour. Richard Twyman, the newly appointed Artistic Director of English Touring Theatre, returns to direct Harrogate, which had an acclaimed sell-out run at the influential annual HighTide Festival in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.

Since 2011, each year Theatre Uncut has released a set of short plays that can be downloaded and performed rights free by anyone, anywhere for a month, creating a mass participation international political theatre event. This Autumn, Theatre Uncut will release a set of works by writers from the UK, Turkey and Denmark that respond to the refugee crisis. The six short plays offer a thought provoking and often moving analysis of Europe's response to the events that have seen many thousands of people risk everything in the attempt to escape war, terrorism and poverty the Middle East and Northern Africa.

The International Centre for Women Playwrights (ICWP) is thrilled to report that a record-breaking number of recipients will receive the 2016 50/50 Applause Awards, which recognizes theatres that produced 50% or more women playwrights in their 2015/16 season of shows. ICWP defines 50/50 by the number of qualifying performances in a theatre's season. This allows a concrete measurement of the resources being devoted to women playwrights.

Papatango today announced the creative team for Orca, Matt Grinter's winning submission from a record-breaking 1053 entries to the 8th annual Papatango New Writing Prize. Alice Hamilton will direct, with set and costumes designed by Frankie Bradshaw, lighting design by Johanna Town and sound design by Richard Hammarton.
