Casting is today announced for the UK Premiere of Carmen Disruption. Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Birdland, Three Kingdoms) makes his Almeida debut with this dramatic reimagining of Bizet's Carmen. Michael Longhurst directs his first production at the Almeida following great acclaim in New York and London for Constellations by Nick Payne. (more...)

Samuel West directs Michael Begley (Roy), Rachel Bell (Sheila), Marty Cruickshank (Virgie), Kate Fahy (Sonia), Neil McCaul (Tom), Veronica Roberts (Haydn), James Wallace (Orin) and Eleanor Wyld (Miranda). The production opens on 16 March at The Drum, Theatre Royal Plymouth, with previews from 12 March, and runs until 28 March, before transferring to the Tricycle Theatre from 7 April to 2 May. Artistic Director of London Classic Theatre Michael Cabot today announces the full cast for the company's production of Alan Ayckbourn's Absent Friends as part of their 15th Anniversary season. Cabot directs Ashley Cook (Colin), John Dorney (John), Kevin Drury (Paul), Catherine Harvey (Diana), Kathryn Ritchie (Evelyn) and Alice Selwyn (Marge). The tour opens at Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne with a press night on 29 April and will tour to a total of 16 venues. There will be a second press night at Richmond Theatre on 15 June. Islands at the Bush Theatre is both written by and stars Caroline Horton as the grotesque character Mary, a self-proclaimed god who lives in Haven with her two very camp assistants Swill (Seiriol Davies) and Agent (John Biddle).
