Swing right in to the holiday season as SOPAC presents the John Pizzarelli Quartet on December 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Just announced at The Iridium: Prince's protege LIV WARFIELD on October 15 & 16!

Husband-and-wife duo John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey make their annual fall pilgrimage toCafe Carlyle with an all-new show, The Arc of a Love Affair, November 22-December 1. They return following last year's universally acclaimed show My Generation. 

Thirteen-year-old guitarist Brandon Niederauer, who plays the role of 'Zack Mooneyham' in the Tony Award-nominated Broadway production School of Rock the Musical at the Winter Garden Theatre, next door to The Iridium will be appearing at the venue on December 8th, 2016.

John Pizzarelli, the world-renowned jazz guitarist and singer, who has been called 'hip with a wink' by Town & Country, 'madly creative' by the Los Angeles Times and 'the genial genius of the guitar' by The Toronto Star brought his Swing Seven to Birdland this past week and Broadwayworld was there for his closing night.  Son of the legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, New Jersey native John Pizzarelli has become one of the most recognizable faces and voices in contemporary jazz. John Pizzarelli has had a multi-faceted career as a jazz guitarist, vocalist and bandleader, known around the world for the cool jazz flavor he brings to classic standards, late-night ballads, and each of his hugely entertaining live performances and masterful recordings. His most recent CD release, Rockin' In Rhythm, combines the enduring work of Duke Ellington with Pizzarelli's incredible ability to reinterpret the Great American Songbook. Rockin' In Rhythm is the follow up to Pizzarelli's critically-acclaimed 2008 release, With A Song In My Heart - John Pizzarelli Sings the Music of Richard Rodgers, which featured Don Sebesky's Grammy-nominated arrangement of 'Johnny One Note.' With his active touring schedule, Pizzarelli continues to charm audiences with his warmth, conversational humor, and musical moxie.

Award-winning trumpeter/vocalist/composer and 'one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation (Wall Street Journal),' Bria Skonberg brings her infectious and vibrant jazz and blues-infused style to Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre in Malibu on Saturday, September 17 at 8 p.m., officially opening the 2016-2017 season at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts.

Michael Feinstein and the Pasadena POPS heat up the Los Angeles County Arboretum on August 20th with an evening solely devoted to one of America's most beloved musical icons for Cole Porter Night.

Coming up at The Iridium are: NYC's all-women blues band JANE LEE HOOKER on July 23; ELLEN KAYE with UK guitarist PAUL ROSE and Ethan Fein and the LiveIt!LIVE Band on July 26; VERNON REID POWER TRIO on July 29; and soul singer/songwriter/guitarist RAUL MIDON on September 24 & 25. The notes, the sounds, and that famous smile, were all gloriously and heroically present as Gianni Valenti announced "Bucky's Back" to a standing room only (and standing) Birdland audience last night and Broadwayworld was there..  It was akin to seeing a ball player like Mickey Mantle, getting on in his years, return after a possible career ending injury, return and then hit a home run.   The crowd in Birdland cheered and teared for Bucky Pizzarelli at this triumphant evening. He wowed everyone with his undiminished virtuosity, musicianship and personality in this, his 90th year.  Bucky's back, and his music will live forever.

The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater Summer Concert Series returns with new faces (and some favorites), performing Latin, Cabaret, Classical, Big Band and more. The series runs Tuesday and Wednesday nights, June 28 through July 13. Concerts are 8pm at the air-conditioned, state-of-the-art Julie Harris Stage. It's the perfect way to end a day at the beach! Individual tickets are $20. A subscription to all six concerts is $100.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College concludes its 2015-16 Jazz Series on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 3pm with three-time Grammy Award-winning pianist Ramsey Lewis and singer/guitarist John Pizzarelli, joining forces in a tribute to the titan of fifties vocal pop, Nat King Cole.
