I'd venture to say that this is one of the strongest new plays I've seen at Woolly in recent memory.

Dallas Theater Center brings a brand new adaptation of the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol to the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center for the first time. DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty wrote the new adaptation and will direct the holiday favorite, with choreography by Joel Ferrell. A Christmas Carol makes its Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre debut on November 21 and runs through December 24. Lucy Thurber's The Hill Town Plays, a cycle of five plays--Scarcity, Ashville, Where We're Born, Killers and Other Family, and Stay--began previews August 14, 2013, with an official opening night for all five plays on September 5, 2013. The closing date is today, September 28, 2013.

The Boston Theater Critics Association previously announced its nominations for the 31st Annual Elliot Norton Awards. The awards, which recognize excellence in Greater Boston theater, will be presented tonight, May 13, at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Mainstage, 559 Washington Street, Boston.

Following the end of its run on March 24th at The Pershing Square Signature Center, Signature Theatre's critically acclaimed production of David Henry Hwang's play THE DANCE AND THE RAILROAD, directed by May Adrales, will play a limited run at The Inaugural Wuzhen Theatre Festival in Wuzhen, China, May 9-12, 2013. The entire production, featuring Ruy Iskandar as Ma and Yuekun Wu as Lone, will make the transfer. This marks the first time that a play by David Henry Hwang has been performed in mainland China.
