Dallas Theater Center Announces A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, Runs 10/24-11/22

As a resident company of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, Dallas Theater Center is proud to announce Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty directs A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, running Oct. 24-Nov. 22, as the inaugural production of the 2009-2010 season in DTC's new home, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre.

Yale Repertory Theatre Presents ECLIPSED, Beginning 10/24

The Yale Repertory Theatre will present Danai Gurira's ECLIPSED beginning October 24th, with an opening night of October 29th. The cast will feature Pascale Armand, Zainab Jah, Adepero Oduye, Stacey Sargeant, and Shona Tucker.

Jennifer Mudge stars in the world premiere of Bekah Brunstetter?s play Oohrah!, presented by the Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director). Directed by Evan Cabnet, OOHRAH! also features Cassie Beck, Sami Gayle, Darren Goldstein, J.R. Horne, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe and Maximilian Osinski. Oohrah! began previews Tuesday, September 1 and opened Thursday, September 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 27, 2009 Off-Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16 Street).

Dallas Theater Center, in association with SMU Meadows School of the Arts, presents In the Beginning, an adaptation of the first 10 chapters of the Book of Genesis, featuring the newly announced DTC acting company, and directed by artistic director Kevin Moriarty. In the Beginning runs Jan. 21-Feb. 15 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Presenting familiar stories from Genesis - the creation of the world, Adam and Eve in Eden, jealousy and murder among brothers, the world's destruction by water - In the Beginning offers a fresh retelling of age-old tales interspersed with engaging dialogue taken directly from conversations with local community members and respected religious scholars about the text. 'In the Beginning does not present a single, definitive interpretation of the stories we find in Genesis,' Moriarty says. 'Rather, it is a reflection of the conversations we've had with people of faith throughout our community about the text and the personal truths and insights they've found through their own explorations into these stories.'

Rattlestick's 'GEOMETRY OF FIRE' Ends Extended Run 12/21

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (David Van Asselt, Artistic Director, and Sandra Coudert, Managing Director) has announced a one-week extension of the World Premiere of Geometry of Fire, a new drama by Stephen Belber, directed by Lucie Tiberghien (The Pavilion). Performances began Saturday, November 15th and the show officially opened on Monday, November 24th at 7pm. Originally scheduled to close on December 14th, the show will now end its run on Sunday, December 21, 2008.
