A Class Act NY, Manhattan's award-winning acting studio for kids and teens just wrapped up their by audition only summer course, their July Pre-Professional Program! During this week-long intensive, 24 lucky young artists, ages 12 to 18, were challenged to expand their theatre performance skills and explore more advanced work. At the end of the week, participants made their off-Broadway Debut in a final performance at The Riverside Theatre in Manhattan for friends, family and industry professionals, including talent representatives and casting experts. Last night at the New Amsterdam Theatre, home to Disney's Tony Award®-winning hit musical Aladdin, the show welcomed its one millionth guest since beginning performances on Broadway on February 26, 2014.

Earlier today, First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed ALADDIN stars Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), James Monroe Iglehart (Genie), Courtney Reed (Jasmine) and several members of the Aladdin ensemble to perform a selection of highlights from the Tony-winning hit musical at The White House Kids' State Dinner. The performance garnered a standing ovation, with the First Lady thanking the cast, calling the performance 'perfection.'
