This August, Bloomberg Summer at the Roundhouse, the annual season dedicated to introducing new audiences to innovative culture, returns for its fifth consecutive year with Curtain Call by internationally renowned artist, architect and designer Ron Arad.  Ron Arad's 360° floor-to-ceiling installation is made up of 5,600 silicon rods suspended and filling the Roundhouse's iconic main space. Alongside the installation the Roundhouse has announced seven unique music events, designed by an eclectic mix of artists to take place as one-off performances in and around the installation.   

For Blue Note Hawaii, the state's premier venue for the world's most celebrated artists, June begins with one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters in recent history, Christopher Cross, followed by a Reggae Meets Jazz series with Monty Alexander Harlem Kingston Express, contemporary jazz instrumentalist group Acoustic Alchemy and Grammy Award-winning vocalist Lisa Fischer & Grand Baton. June also brings a host of local talent including Adagio, Willie K, Paula Fuga, Darren Benitez, Hotclub of Hulaville, Rolando Sanchez, Little Albert and Jake Shimabukuro. Blue Note Hawaii also continues Gospel Brunch every Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. show time and doors opening at 11:00 a.m.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) announces its stellar 2016/17 concert series, presenting a line-up of captivating new works, dramatic debuts, and much-anticipated returns in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Balancing traditional - from Portuguese fado to Mongolian folk - with cutting-edge - from New Orleans jazz-rock to rhythmic Latin fusion - the series offers a window onto the world with international artists at the pinnacle of their practices.

On the border of poetry, music and dance TRANSCESTRAL INCANTATIONS promises to be a real highlight of the event RAOTIHO?N:TSA - Focus on Firsts Nations' contemporary creation. Orchestrated by Moe Clark and Katia Makdissi- Warren, this performance is a blending of both First Nations' and Middle East cultures. The evening promises to be festive as well as introspective. It will allow us to travel between the exalted celebration of the founding identities, and dive into our own personal cultural composition.

In April, San Francisco Opera Education presents the sixth installment in the series of free Opera in an Hour films: Gioachino Rossini's Cinderella will be presented Today, April 9 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, April 10 at 11 a.m. (free). Audiences will delight in this charming opera, crafted for families and youth in a one-hour form. A 15 minute live introduction precedes each screening. Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates International Jazz Appreciation Month with a diverse line-up of artists throughout Frederick P. Rose Hall, the "House of Swing." After four decades of performing with icons like Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, and Nine Inch Nails, Lisa Fischer is finally offering her own humble, heartfelt song, accompanied by her inventive new band Grand Baton.

Legendary jazz singer and lyricist Jon Hendricks, dubbed 'The Poet Laureate of Jazz,' celebrated jazz vocalist and actress Annie Ross, and acclaimed jazz singer Janis Siegel are among the artists who will be honored at the 31st Annual Bistro Awards gala tonight, March 8 at 6:30 pm at the Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd St. As is the Bistro Awards tradition, the evening will feature performances by the winners.

Performer Bobby McFerrin has cancelled his April 1, 2016 performance at The Kentucky Center, along with his other Spring 2016 tour dates, citing health reasons. We hope to reschedule as soon as Bobby's health allows. McFerrin's representatives issued a statement on his behalf:
