Short North Stage will present its 2014-15 season starting on October 2 with Sunset Boulevard, the musical version of Billy Wilder's Academy Award-winning 1950 movie of the same name. The score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is considered by many to be one of his finest. The book and lyrics are by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. Sunset Boulevard is a Hollywood legend about a faded 1920s silent-screen star, Norma Desmond, who lives in a decaying mansion on the fabled Los Angeles street. A chance meeting with a down-and-out screenwriter, Joe Gillis, feeds into her dream of writing a film that will be her comeback to the silver screen. Winning Tony Awards on Broadway for Best Musical, Best Book and Score and Best Actress in 1995, Sunset Boulevard opened originally in London starring Patti LuPone and later productions featured such stars as Betty Buckley, Glenn Close, Diahann Caroll and Petula Clark. Actor Hugh Jackman made his first stage splash as Joe Gillis in the Australian production. Performances run from Oct 2-19 on the Garden Theater Main Stage.

Annie Potts will play her final performance in the role on Sunday, July 20. Tony Award winner John Rubinstein, who created the role of Pippin in the original 1972 production, will extend his run in the show as “Charles” through Sunday, August 17. PIPPIN is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

CHICAGO, which opened to rave reviews on November 14, 1996, has the distinction of being the longest-running American musical in Broadway history and shows no sign of ever slowing down. CHICAGO will play Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall for a limited, one-week engagement from October 21-26.

Longtime theatrical Ad Man, Peter LeDonne, is now a New York radio host on 970 AM The Answer with Backstage with Peter LeDonne. Peter's show airs every Sunday from 12 Noon to 1 PM. He will have special guests, including Jamie deRoy who is Peter's Night Life Correspondent and will provide listeners with information about what's going on in the New York City live entertainment scene.

The producers of the Tony Award-winning hit Broadway musical Pippin announced casting for the U.S. national tour, which runs Nov. 25-30 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. This all-new production of Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's Pippin is directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and features choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers).
