KCRW and the Annenberg Foundation Announce Line-Up for SOUND IN FOCUS

KCRW and the Annenberg Foundation are pleased to announce the lineup for the 2017 SOUND IN FOCUS series -- three, free, all-ages concerts held at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City. The series kicks-off on Saturday, July 15 with a headlining performance from Grammy-winning R&B artist Miguel, an opening set by Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Garzon-Montano, and DJ sets by Stretch Armstrong. The evening will be hosted by KCRW's Anthony Valadez. The series continues on Saturday, July 22 with a headlining performance from the legendary Paul Oakenfold, opening sets by East L.A.-based troubadour Mondo Cozmo and L.A.'s Lo Moon, and DJ sets by KCRW's Jason Bentley.

Tony Award winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal), Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman (School of Rock), Erin Davie (Sunday in the Park with George, Side Show, Grey Gardens) and Drama Desk honoree Danny Gardner (Dames at Sea) will join Tony Award nominees Brandon Uranowitz (Falsettos, An American in Paris) and Christiane Noll (Ragtime, Chaplin, Jekyll & Hyde) and two-time Nightlife Award winner Scott Coulter for Town Hall's Broadway by the Year Series on Monday, June 19 at 8pm.

The Poway OnStage 2017/18 season opens with the arena rock of KANSAS. It continues with GRAMMY winning artists: Los Lobos, Aaron Neville, BJ Thomas and Roger McGuinn. Saturday Night Live alumna and Broadway leading lady Ana Gasteyer brings her cabaret show. Local music takes center stage with Six String Society's Sounds of the Big Easy and roots rockers Berkley Hart. Cameron Carpenter brings his international touring organ and a wide repertoire of classical and modern pieces. Love Letters From Vietnam is a unique live theatrical musical performance of Alex Woodward's songs written for the daughter of Vietnam vet Sgt. John K. Fuller. TAO: Drum Heart closes the season with their world tour of large-scale Japanese taiko drumming, dance and martial arts.

Following the success of Dr Seuss's The Lorax during the festive season of 2015-16, and prior to its return this autumn, the creative team have reunited to create an original piece of theatre from the first solo outing by singer-songwriter Charlie Fink (formerly frontman for Noah and the Whale). It plays alongside Woyzeck at the Old Vic prior to a UK and international tour.
