Native Chicagoan, Eric Petersen will lead the First National Tour cast as Shrek. DreamWorks Theatricals & Neal Street Productions have announced that a new block of tickets are now available for SHREK THE MUSICAL. The award-winning hit new Broadway musical is now on sale through May 30, 2010. Beginning November 10th, Ben Crawford will perform the title role of ?Shrek'. Crawford replaces Tony Award® nominee Brian d'Arcy James, who departs after the performance on Sunday, November 8th to appear in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Time Stands Still.

In the Chicago Tribune yesterday, theater critic Chris Jones reports that Shrek originals Brian D'Arcy James (Shek), Sutton Foster (Princess Fiona) and Christopher Sieber (Lord Farquaad) are scheduled to attend a preview event later this month surrounding the announcement of the Shrek National Tour, reported to be kicking off at Chicago's Ford Center for the Performing Arts in June 2010.

Due to popular demand, the hit song "I'm a Believer" has been added to the smash Broadway musical, SHREK THE MUSICAL®. Since the musical opened on Broadway last year, an instrumental version of the classic 1960s song was played as patrons left the theatre. Now, beginning with the performance on Friday, October 2nd, the entire company will perform "I'm a Believer."
