Over 400 international collectors and prominent figures in art, fashion, beauty and finance flocked to have the first look at an extraordinary survey of four decades of work by famed photographer Robert Farber on Thursday January 30. The show Farberesque: From Pensive to Provocative at 3West57 Project presented by Cavalier Gallery is a fascinating overview of the vast body of work created by the iconic photographer who has influenced scores of the world's leading photographers with his painterly, impressionistic style that allows the viewer to see the subject from a different perspective by creating unique compositions . Today, at a private luncheon in the Dallas flagship store, Neiman Marcus Group CEO Karen Katz presented Chanel Artistic Director Karl Lagerfeld with The Neiman Marcus Award For Distinguished Service In The Field Of Fashion. The award, instituted in 1938 by Stanley Marcus, was developed to bring emerging designers from Europe and America into public awareness. The award is given to those who have made a distinctive contribution to the world of fashion by designing, promoting, or wearing fashion in a way that influences the public.

The one-time-only gala evening will take place tonight, September 19, 2013, and this year's participants include choreographers Benjamin Millepied, in collaboration with the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen; Justin Peck, who will create a new ballet featuring costumes by the acclaimed New York-based fashion designer Prabal Gurung; and Angelin Preljocaj, who will work with Olivier Theyskens, the Belgian-born designer who is the Artistic Director of the American fashion house Theory.

Hagley Museum and Library is displaying a portion of its fashion collection for the first time in its newest exhibit, "Fashion Meets Science: Introducing Nylon." This exhibit shows how nylon revolutionized the fashion industry and influenced how people have dressed since its launch in 1938 by the DuPont Company. "Fashion Meets Science: Introducing Nylon" opens on April 6, 2013, and runs through March 31, 2014. The exhibit is included in admission and free for members and children five and under.

FilmBuff and Coffee Bluff Pictures today announced the release of the critically acclaimed documentary film, VERSAILLES '73: AMERICAN RUNWAY REVOLUTION. The film will be released on iTunes, Amazon Instant View, and other VOD platforms on Tuesday, February 12th, 2013 by digital entertainment curator, FilmBuff.

The new fashion documentary, VERSAILLES '73: American Runway Revolution,' continues to build momentum, opening in three additional cities: Los Angeles, California (October 26 - November 1), Atlanta, Georgia (October 29 - 31), and Chicago, Illinois (November 7-8, 16 - 19). The film will also have a premiere screening on October 20th during Toronto Fashion Week in Canada.
