The producers of the Tony Award winning Best Revival of a Musical PIPPIN just announced that Andrea Martin, who won 2013 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for creating the role of "Berthe" in the production, will return to the role for 24 performances only, Tuesday September 2nd through Sunday September 21st. Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez will now perform the role of "Berthe" through Sunday, August 31. PIPPIN is now in its second smash year at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Tony Award winner John Rubinstein, who made his Broadway debut and received a Theater World Award for creating the title role in the original 1972 production of Pippin, will join the all-new Tony Award winning production of Pippin in the role of 'Charles.' Mr. Rubinstein will play a limited engagement. He was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, but instead, he will start tonight, June 19, and run until Sunday, July 27, 2014 He is filling in for Terrance Mann's leave of absence. Due to overwhelming ticket demand the critically acclaimed musical Mama and Her Boys has again extended it's return New York engagement. Tickets are now on sale through May 7. Performances continue Todays at 8:30pm at Sophies at Broadway, 318 W. 53rd St. between 8th and 9th Avenue. Creators and original cast members Ethan Paulini and Wendy Watson will appear on April 23 and May 7. The current cast includes original New York cast member Erik Keiser joined by Sarah Kleeman and Steven Boyd Baker. Paulini will stage and choreograph with musical direction by Lilli Wosk. Co-Creator Christopher Sidoli serves as musical consultant and Tony nominee Linda Kline serves as script consultant. The score features contributions from Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, Drew Overcash, Sally Fingerett and Tony nominee Lucy Simon. The run is produced by CEW Productions and Sophies. Hubbard has appeared on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera (she returns to the Broadway company June 30 in the role of Madame Giry) and The Pirate Queen. She joins original cast members/creators Ethan Paulini, Wendy Watson and original New York cast member Erik Keiser on 4/23. Her national tour credits include Wicked and Legally Blonde. She is also a member of the Broadway Dolls.
