Taymor's 'Tempest' Film Starring Mirren Closes Venice Film Festival

Deadline.com reports that Julie Taymor's film adaptation of 'The Tempest' will close the Venice Film Festival. The film will then be released by Disney on December 10 in 'exclusive engagements,' expanding to limited screens after one week.

Julie Taymor Plans 'Transposed Heads' Musical Adaptation

Director Julie Taymor recently announced plans for an adaptation of Thomas Mann's 'Transposed Heads.' The film will feature a script by SPIDER-MAN book writer Glenn Berger and a score by Elliot Goldenthal, who worked with Taymor on 'Across the Universe.'

The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director), announced the nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards today at Sardi's with the help of Broadway stars Kelsey Grammer (La Cage Aux Folles) and Bebe Neuwirth (The Addams Family). The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12:00pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square.
