East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, continues its 45th Anniversary season, themed Shake It Up, with the world premiere hip hop musical, KRUNK FU BATTLE BATTLE, with book by Qui Nguyen, Lyrics by Beau Sia, Vocal Music by Marc Macalintal, Dance Music provided by Rynan Paguio and Jason Tyler Chong, Musical Direction by Marc Macalintal, and Choreography by Jason Tyler Chong.

Vampire Cowboys Present The Inexplicable Redemption of Agent G 3/24

The OBIE Award-winning Vampire Cowboys Theatre Company, will present the world premiere of "THE INEXPLICABLE REDEMPTION OF AGENT G," written by Qui Nguyen and directed by Robert Ross Parker (with fight direction by Nguyen), when it begins performances on March 24 at Incubator Arts Project (incubatorarts.org), St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery, 131 East 10th Street (at 2nd Avenue).

Asian American Theater Conference and Festival to be Held in LA, 6/16-26

For the first time, the National Asian American Theater Conference and the National Asian American Theater Festival will be held jointly from June 16-25, 2011. The event will be presented in Los Angeles by the Consortium of Asian American Theaters and Artists (CAATA) and hosted by Asian American Theaters East West Players and Teada Productions, both residing in Los Angeles.

East West Players Writers' Gallery Hosts A Workshop Presentation Of An Original Anime Hip-hop Martial Arts Musical

East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, has gathered a creative team to develop a new musical that utilizes anime, hip-hop and martial arts. A 25 minute presentation of this work in progress will be performed on Friday, November 20 , 7:30pm at the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy. Q & A discussion will follow.
