ANNIE to Offer New Dog Owners Free Tickets Throughout October

October is Adopt-a-Dog month, and ANNIE on Broadway is celebrating by showing support for those who adopt shelter dogs. From October 15 through 31, at participating shelters around the city, individuals who adopt a dog from a participating shelter will receive a voucher for two tickets to see ANNIE in November, while supplies last. ANNIE has partnered with a select number of shelters and rescue groups in NYC, all of which are members of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, to participate. Participating shelters include The Humane Society of NY, New York Animal Care & Control, Animal Haven, Sean Casey Animal Rescue and Louie's Legacy. More shelters will be announced via social media.

ANNIE Celebrates First Anniversary on Broadway Today!

ANNIE, the critically acclaimed new production of the Tony Award-winning musical, celebrates one year on Broadway with this evening's performance. ANNIE began preview performances at the Palace Theatre (Broadway and 47th Street) on October 3, 2012, and opened on November 8, 2012.

The producers of ANNIE announced this evening that the show will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Upon closing, the production, which opened on November 8, 2012 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street), will have played 487 performances and 38 previews.

The Public Theater announced today that Kevin Kline will reprise his Tony Award-winning role of The Pirate King with Glenn Close as Ruth, Eric Idle as the Sergeant, and Martin Short as Major-General Stanley in the one-night-only concert performance of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE for The Public's annual gala. Co-chaired by Sir Howard Stringer, Arielle Tepper Madover, and Renee Beaumont, this unforgettable summer evening will also honor the late Nora Ephron who was a long-time board member and consummate lover of The Public's Shakespeare in the Park.

ANNIE, nominated for a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, will launch a US National Tour in the 2014-2015 season. The national tour will be produced by Troika Entertainment. THIRTEEN to Bring Broadway's ANNIE to NYC Classrooms as Part of Education Initiative

THIRTEEN, New York's flagship public media provider, and Arielle Tepper Madover Productions will bring hands-on theater education experiences to New York City students through the latest component of a three-part education initiative - Made up of audience development, an interactive website and a PBS documentary film airing this June - that strives to make the Broadway revival of ANNIE much more than an exciting new production of a classic musical. Through partnerships with the New York City's Department of Education's Office of the Arts and the Collaborative Arts Project 21 (CAP21), a Manhattan-based non-profit arts education organization, and with generous support from the New York City Council, a unique audience development program will immerse public school educators and underserved students from across the city in the art of musical theater.

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that Jude Law is Broadway-bound next year in the hit production of ANNA CHRISTIE currently running at London's Donmar Warehouse. The show, which opened to rave reviews, is directed by Rob Ashford. The production is said to be unable to transfer immediately due to film committments, but producer Arielle Tepper Madover (whose ANNIE is Broadway-bound as well) is now raising funds to transfer the production.

Arielle Tepper Madover isn't just a Tony award winning Broadway producer, she's also a mom. Like all of us, she puts a lot of value on her kids' emotional development, and she recognizes how important self-esteem is, especially for young girls.
