dick clark productions and NBC today announced nominees for the "2019 Billboard Music Awards," which honors the year's most successful artists in 56 categories across all genres of music.  "2019 Billboard Music Awards" host Kelly Clarkson and chart-topping duo Dan + Shay, kicked off the nominations this morning, live on NBC's "Today."  Last year's Top Rap Female Artist winner, Cardi B, leads the pack with 21 nods, followed by Drake and Post Malone, each with 17.  Other nominees and possible record-breakers include Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Travis Scott and XXXTENTACION.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre Executive Director Angela Lee Gieras has announced the organization's 2019 Gala, THE CAST PARTY. Featuring a performance by international recording artist and Broadway veteran Shoshana Bean, THE CAST PARTY promises an evening of Broadway-style glamour. Gala chairs Roshann Parris and Jeff Dobbs will host this annual fundraising event on Friday, May 10, at 5:30 PM at The Abbott, located at 1901 Cherry St. in Kansas City's Crossroads arts district.

Billboard is proud to announce today that singer, songwriter and producer Juan Luis Guerra will take the stage as a special guest in a Q&A during this year's Billboard Latin Music Week. The internationally recognized star hailing from the Dominican Republic will headline the 'The Legend Q&A' session on Wednesday, April 24. In January, Ariana Grande dropped her latest single, and its accompanying music video, '7 Rings.' The song features her sampling the famous Sound of Music number, 'My Favorite Things.' According to The New York Times, the song just topped Billboard's singles chart for the sixth time. The song is credited to 10 writers, but Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, who wrote the original 'My Favorite Things,' control 90% of the songwriting royalties. That makes this chart-topping hit not only a huge victory for Grande, but a huge victory for the musical theatre legends as well!

iHeartMedia and Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) announced today that the Backstreet Boys, Ella Mai, lovelytheband and Marshmello with special guest Lauv will perform at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards, plus Travis Barker and Yungblud will join Halsey as special guest performers. Previously announced performers include Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Garth Brooks, John Legend and Kacey Musgraves, with a special appearance by Taylor Swift. Renowned vocal coach, Bob Marks will be teaching two musical theatre audition and performance workshops as a guest instructor at Theatrical Artist's Prep in Scotch Plains New Jersey. Each workshop is limited to 12 students and is open to kids 7-13 years old and teens/adults 14 years old and older. The workshops will take place on Sunday, April 14th from 10:00am-1:00pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm. The session will include tips on song selection, dealing with accompanists, lyric interpretation, and preparing for 'real world' theatre audition situations.

Grammy-winning songstress Ella Mai (10 Summers/Interscope Records) will be extending her wildly successful, sold-out The Debut Tour. The tour will now run through May 22nd before wrapping in Nashville, TN. The tour is in support of Ella's self-titled album, which was executive produced by 10 Summers' label head, Mustard. The album features Ella's latest single, 'Shot Clock' as well as the record-breaking hits, 'Boo'd Up' and 'Trip.' Tickets for The Debut Tour will be made available to the public on Friday, March 8 at 10:00am local time.
