Lynn University and Jan McArt, producer and director of theatre arts program development, today announced the upcoming series of Jan McArt's New Play Readings. Under the leadership and guidance of McArt, this program develops new plays by highly acclaimed playwrights through staged readings.

Jazz music is mixed with midlife crises and life's tempting tricks, complicating the search for 'happily ever afters.' A modern take on an old-fashioned romantic farce, where five intertwined lives wind up in a secluded New York cabin. These are the plays that comprise the 2018-19 'Jan McArt New Play Readings' series, to be presented at Boca Raton's Lynn University beginning Monday, October 22nd.

Hampstead Theatre presents the world premiere of Nicholas Wright's The Slaves of Solitude directed by Jonathan Kent.

Artistic Director Jonathan Church's complete programme for Theatre Royal Bath's annual Summer Season is today announced. Church's inaugural season of five plays will open with David Hare's Racing Demons from 21 June, followed by Sand in the Sandwiches by Hugh Whitemore, the UK Premiere of Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, Looking at Lucian by Alan Franks and Alan Bennett's The Lady in the Van.

Edward Fox is to star in a new play, Sand in the Sandwiches by Hugh Whitemore, which celebrates the life and work of John Betjeman. Directed by Gareth Armstrong, the production will premiere at Oxford Playhouse on 25 October 2016 followed by a UK tour visiting the Minerva Theatre Chichester, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse and culminating with a final performance at the Folkestone Book Festival on 24 November 2016. Amazon today announced it has added the period drama series JULIAN FELLOWES PRESENTS DOCTOR THORNE to its lineup of Amazon Original Series, and is scheduled to premiere the series on Prime Video in the U.S. on May 20.

Casting has been announced for the world premiere of LADY ANNA: ALL AT SEA, a new play by Craig Baxter, inspired by the work of Anthony Trollope, directed by Colin Blumenau and designed by Libby Watson, at Park Theatre from Wednesday 19 August - Saturday 19 September, with a press night on Thursday 20 August.
