The clever, funny and hilarious new musical Desperate Measures, with book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina) and music by David Friedman (Scandalous), presented by The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), in association with Pat Flicker Addiss and Cecilia Lin& Hu Guo, celebrated its 100th performance yesterday afternoon, December 28! Final Weeks! The clever, funny and hilarious new musical Desperate Measures, with book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina)and music by David Friedman (Scandalous), presented by The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), in association with Pat Flicker Addiss and Cecilia Lin & Hu Guo, concludes its thrice-extended run on Sunday afternoon, December 31, 2017 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue) where performances began September 19, 2017. Desperate Measures will celebrate its milestone 100th performance on Thursday afternoon, December 28!

The Broadway Boys will once again host Broadway's favorite holiday party and concert with the 10th Annual BROADWAY SINGS FOR TOYS: A Benefit for Toys for Tots, Monday Dec 11th at 6:30pm. Based on the success of a recent one-night only concert, the hot musical duo The Skivvies, Lauren Molina (Bella Rose in The York's current production of Desperate Measures) and Nick Cearley, will return to The York Theatre Company for an encore performance with the cast of the new hit Off-Broadway musical Desperate Measures, and more, for another outrageous, feel-good 'undie-rock' concert.

Touring vocal group The Broadway Boys announce the launch of a month long Kickstarter campaign to fund their new album, "A New Broadway."  The company is aiming to raise $30,000 by August 13th and have recorded their first single, "Magic to Do," as a preview of the album's sound.

I'm always cautiously optimistic in seeing a regional production of Jonathan Larson's Rent as I am a Renthead of MANY years. The thing to remember, obviously, is art has different interpretations. It is interesting to see the different elucidations of the choreography, the varied choices the actors make, the Director's vision, et cetera. I can proudly say that The Gateway Playhouse's incarnation of the Tony and Pulitzer winner, which is kicking off a very busy Summer season for the darling Bellport venue, does not disappoint.
