HBO's Veep Premieres April 22 With Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Emmy(R) winner for 'Seinfeld' and 'The New Adventures of Old Christine') stars as Selina Meyer in VEEP, the story of a woman who becomes vice president, only to discover the job is nothing like she expected, but everything she was warned about. Created by Armando Iannucci (Oscar(R) nominee for co-writing 'In the Loop'), the new comedy series kicks off its eight-episode season SUNDAY, APRIL 22 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.

Frog and Peach Theatre Co., Inc. will present an all-star benefit reading of 'Hamlet' on February 21 at The Player's Club with a cast including Darrell Hammond (Saturday Night Live) as Guildenstern, Austin Pendleton ('My Cousin Vinnie') as Claudius and the Ghost, Shirley Knight ('Our Idiot Brother,' 'Sweet Bird of Youth') as Gertrude, David Margulies ('Ghostbusters,' 'Sopranos') as Polonius and Gravedigger, Fred Willard ('Anchorman,' 'Waiting for Guffman') as Horatio, Anna Chlumsky ('In the Loop') as Ophelia, Ted Zurkowski ('Boys on the Side,' co-founder of Frog and Peach Theatre Co.) as Hamlet and Ryan Tramont ('The Hurt Locker') as Laertes. Music is by Ian McDonald (King Crimson, Foreigner) and performed live by Mr. McDonald.

HBO has picked up the new comedy series VEEP, created by Armando Iannucci (Oscar(R) nominee for co-writing 'In the Loop') and starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Emmy(R) winner for 'Seinfeld' and 'The New Adventures of Old Christine'), it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Iannucci co-wrote and directed the pilot of the series, which he executive produces along with Frank Rich of New York Magazine and Christopher Godsick ('Take the Lead'); Simon Blackwell, who co-wrote the pilot, co-executive produces and Julia Louis-Dreyfus produces. VEEP, which is expected to shoot in Baltimore, will begin production this fall for 2012 debut on HBO.
