Playwrights Guild of Canada's Women's Caucus has selected Artistic Director Philip Akin as the recipient of the 2011 Bra D'Or Award.

On Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 9 pm, for one night only, Canadian rising star Haley McGee, dubbed 'the next darling of Canadian theatre' (See Magazine), brings her critically acclaimed show OH MY IRMA to Theatre ROW, 410 West 42nd Street, New York, as part of the United Solo Theatre Festival.

Project: Humanity, Theatre Passe Muraille and Canadian Stage announced casting for The Middle Place by Toronto playwright Andrew Kushnir, directed by Alan Dilworth. The Toronto production will feature four of the original cast of five including Akosua Amo-Adem (who won the SummerWorks 2009 Award for best new emerging artist for her portrayal), Antonio Cayonne, Jessica Greenberg and Kevin Walker. Actor/playwright Andrew Kushnir will play himself in the production for the first time. The Middle Place runs October 21 to November 14, 2010, at TPM's Mainspace and moves to Canadian Stage's Berkeley Street Theatre, February 14 to March 12, 2011, before embarking on a tour to Ottawa and Victoria. New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is thrilled to present the New England Premiere of Cherry Docs by Canadian playwright David Gow. Cherry Docs opens for the press on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 7:30pm and plays through Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in the Charles Mosesian Theater.

New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is thrilled to announce it will be holding post-performance talkbacks after select performances of Cherry Docs with keynote speakers, such as Davalene Cooper, a professor of law at New England Law, Boston; Barbara Wallace Grossman, a Professor of Drama at Tufts University, theater historian, and director; Peter B. Krupp, a prominent Criminal Defense Lawyer and founding partner of Lurie & Krupp, LLP; Jason Owens, a Substance Abuse Counselor and Court Advocate at ROCA in Chelsea; and Elyse Rast, Holocaust Programs Coordinator and Educator, Jewish Community Relations Council, to complement this powerful production.
