Off-Center concert series in 2013), directed by Leigh Silverman. Based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, VIOLET features music by Jeanine Tesori and book & lyrics by Brian Crawley. While ballet-themed, performing arts-centric ABC Family series Bunheads starring Broadway headliner Sutton Foster unfortunately has been cancelled by the cable network, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has created a special send-off video salute spotlighting the dances, dancers and dancing that made the cult series so memorable as a gift to the fans.

The newest musical to illuminate the stage at Bucks County Playhouse is SUMMER OF '42. This musical is based on the novel and 1971 film of the same name. Herman Raucher wrote the novel and screenplay. Hunter Foster (URINETOWN, HANDS ON A HARDBODY) wrote the book for this musical and David Kirshenbaum wrote the music and lyrics. Foster also directs this production. According to Bucks County Playhouse, "SUMMER OF '42 is a coming of age story about three teenage boys living on a tiny island off the coast of Maine during the time when America was in the middle of a full-scale war and men were lining up to join the army. It becomes a summer they will never forget."

The Hollywood Reporter writes that ABC Family has cancelled BUNHEADS, starring Broadway favorite and two-time Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster. The show ended its first season in February. Despite earlier reports that BUNHEADS' second season would have been entitled to a 25% tax credit for filming in the state of California, plus a wide fan-base, the show has not been renewed.
