Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda and his wife, Vanessa Nadal, who have been married since 2010, made quite the announcement this morning: the two are expecting their first child - and soon!

Broadway veteran Phyllis Newman has not only graced the stage with performers such as Bernadette Peters and Donna McKechnie, and worked directly with other Broadway greats such as Leonard Bernstein, but she was even nominated for a Tony Award against Barbra Streisand- and won! Despite her extensive career and success, she finds her greatest joy and pride in the work of her husband, the late Tony Award-winning lyricist Adolph Green. In light of his upcoming 100th birthday and the opening of his first masterpiece, ON THE TOWN, Newman graciously shared with us her experiences as a Broadway veteran and wife of a lyricist.

The Lilly Awards Foundation with the Broadway at Birdland Series presents The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret: An evening of showstoppers written by women and performed by Broadway's Best to benefit The Lilly Awards Foundation whose mission is to promote gender parity at all levels of theatrical production, and develop and celebrate the work of women in the theater.

The Public Theater announced a four-week extension for the world premiere musical HAMILTON, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow and directed by Thomas Kail, HAMILTON begins performances on Tuesday, January 20 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, February 22. The musical will now run an additional four weeks to Sunday, March 22, with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17.

Variety just revealed that BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL's Taylor Louderman and Alanna Saunders, who recently starred opposite Leslie Uggams in GYPSY at Connecticut Rep, have signed on as 'Wendy Darling' and 'Tiger Lily', respectively, in NBC's upcoming PETER PAN LIVE! On August 17 Cynthia Levin was honored by the Unicorn Theatre when the Main Stage was renamed the Levin Stage by the Board of Directors and the staff. On Saturday night September 6 the now Levin Stage was christened with one of the best performances to be presented in the 41 seasons of the Unicorn Theatre.
