Violin virtuosos Black Violin (BV) to headline New York's oldest and most active theatre in the heart of the Broadway district from March 11- 22, 2009. With influences from Shostakovich and Bach to Jay-Z, Black Violin blends the classical with the modern and creates a sound that not only stimulates the senses but penetrates the soul. Black Violin features Wil B on the viola and Kev Marcus the violin. Showtime at the Apollo champions, these musical magicians have toured and worked with artists from Alicia Keys to Aerosmith to Aretha Franklin and Tom Petty. From The Eagles to P. Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, has announced the 26-member Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. Newcomers to the cast include Gavin Creel, Caissie Levy and Sasha Allen, who join the rest of the tribe, who are reprising their roles from Central Park last summer. HAIR begins preview performances on Friday, March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

The induction and awards dinner is scheduled for Thursday, June 18 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Special award honorees will be announced at a later date.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2008 were presented on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live by the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation was televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.

'Milk' and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' were both nominated for eight Critics Choice Awards. Both were among the 10 films nominated for best picture. 'Milk,' was also nominated for lead actor Sean Penn, supporting co-stars James Franco and James Brolin and director Gus Van Sant. 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' which opens Christmas Day, has Brad Pitt nominated for best actor, supporting nominations for Cate Blanchett and Taraji P. Henson.
