Hotel Nikko San Francisco and Michael Feinstein announced today that Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle award winner, Jason Graae, will bring his new one-man show, 49 ½ Shades of Graae, to Feinstein's at the Nikko for one performance only - Thursday, March 20 (8 p.m.) 49 ½ Shades of Graae is an evening with Broadway juvenile turned Hollywood misfit Jason Graae (pronounced Grah, means Grey in Danish) as he explores the many 'shades' of his life and career. From comedy to tragedy all rolled up in a madcap and heartfelt romp, Jason explores his life of sex, drugs and musical comedy, featuring old and new songs alike, by the people who wrote them. 49 ½ Shades of Graae is directed by Heather Lee with Music Direction by John Boswell. San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon announces WHAT WE DID FOR LOVE, a gala fundraising evening with special guest, star of NBC's Smash, and Sean Saves the World, Megan Hilty, 6pm, tonight, February 27 at Bimbo's 365 Club, 1025 Columbus Ave, San Francisco. In addition to the 'smashing' talents of Broadway and television star Megan Hilty, the evening will include cocktails, dinner, a brief live auction, and a 'MoonGlow Cabaret' with clarion-voiced chanteuse Klea Blackhurst and other Moon performers. Love is in the air at Murder For Two! Producers Jayson Raitt, Barbara Whitman, Steven Chaikelson and Second Stage Theatre announced today another extension for Murder For Two - the hit musical comedy that gets some of New York's biggest laughs from a piano and two multi-talented performers in what Charles Isherwood of The New York Times calls "an ingenious miniature musical in the form of a snazzy vaudevillian double act." Murder For Two, currently starring Joe Kinosian and Brett Ryback, will extend its engagement at New World Stages (Stage 5 - 340 West 50th Street) to Sunday, July 6, 2014. Featuring book and music by Joe Kinosian, book and lyrics by Kellen Blair and direction by Scott Schwartz, the show began performances at New World Stages on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 and officially opened on Wednesday, November 6, 2013.

The 2013 BroadwayWorld San Francisco audience choice awards saw a fantastic number of nominations for theatres throughout Northern California this year, from Fresno's Good Company Players to Modesto's Gallo Center to Broadway Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco. If only enough time existed for us writers to see every talented cast perform. Here are a few of my favorite productions from 2013 in a brief look back at some of the shows I was fortunate enough to witness.
