Illusionist Marvyn (aka Marvin) Roy, born Marvin Levy passed away this afternoon from a cerebral hemmorage.

The Hollywood Arts Council presented their 28th Annual Charlie Awards Luncheon in theBlossom Room of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, home of the first Academy Awards ceremony, at a Sold Out event on Friday, April 25, 2014. Shauna McClure, Executive Director of the Hollywood Arts Council said: "This was the record breaking year of all time in the Hollywood Arts Council's 36-year history. We raised $110,000 at this year's luncheon. Our Online Auction is still open atwww.biddingforgood.com/hollywoodartscouncil. The auction items include one-of-a-kind items, tickets to shows, art and the like. Bidding will close at 12-Midnight on Wednesday, April 30, 2014."

The Hollywood Arts Council's 28th Annual Charlie Awards Luncheon, benefiting the Council's arts programs for underserved children in the community, will be held on April 25, 2014. Emceed by ABC7 Television's George Pennacchio, the luncheon will take place in the Blossom Room in the Hollywoof Roosevelt Hotel. Arrivals will happen between 11:15am and 12:00noon, at which time the event begins.

It takes a much more educated hand to mystify or entertain a crowd than it did on the Vaudeville stages of early America and the founder of the Magic Castle, Milt Larsen, along with veteran producer, Terry Hill, have been offering audiences that little something new and exciting every year for 56 years with their annual production of 'It's Magic!' The program held at the Thousand Oaks Civic Center Plaza, under the direction of Dale Hindman and hosted by Tony Award winner, Jay Johnson, last Saturday night did not disappoint. The scheduled performers included a veteran line up of illustrious illusionists such as Christopher Hart, Adam Trent, Rick Thomas and Magic Castle co-founder, Milt Larsen, as well as the close up talents of Rich Manley in the lobby during the shows intermission. Included among those who have successfully conquered the male dominated industry of illusion are Luna Shimada (daughter of longtime magic legend Shimada), Suzzane (first female recipient of the Close Up Magician of the Year award), and 9 other lady magicians.

Sunday, about 50 top magicians boarded the Carnival Splendor for a magical vacation in Mexico.

In November 2009, the historic structure once known as the Lane Mansion celebrated its centennial. On Jan 2nd, 1963 that same structure became known as the world famous Magic Castle, whose membership has grown to over 20,000 strong. This week fans and fanatics of the mystical and mysterious world of illusion gathered to reaffirm the facilities dedication to the theatrical art form that has it's very roots in the foundation of entertainment itself.

The world premiere of the supercalifragilistic new original full-scale musical production of 'PAZZAZZ!' will open at Santa Barbara's Grand New Performing Arts Center on June 21st. The production will star Dale Kristien, Adam Wylie and Alan Rachins with words and music by Milt Larsen and Oscar winning composer Richard M. Sherman (Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).
