Palm Beach County has a multitude of notable bridges and residents showcased their beauty through stunning images submitted during the 'Bridges of Palm Beach County' photo contest. The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts partnered with the Palm Beach Photographic Centre on this unique contest promoting the final Kravis On Broadway production of the season, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY that opens on Tuesday, April 26, and runs through Sunday, May 1. As the landmark American musical FIDDLER ON THE ROOF celebrates its 50th anniversary, Arena Stage is bringing the show to audiences new and old in production on the intimate and iconic Fichlander Stage. Arena's artistic director Molly Smith directs the production which features the original Jerome Robbins choreography adapted and restaged by Parker Esse. Jeffrey Walker of BroadwayWorld-DC caught up with actors Ann Arvia and Jonathan Hadary who play Golde and Tevye in the new production which is wowing audiences and dazzling critics each night. The students of Imagination Stage's Musical Theatre Conservatory (Grades 7-10) take on the energetic classic musical Sweet Charity December 6-8, 2013 at the Imagination Stage, 4908 Auburn Avenue, Bethesda, MD. The term 'dead ball era' refers to the era of American baseball when the combination of cavernous ballparks, spongy baseballs, and pitcher-friendly rules resulted in games with few home runs. Strategy was important to the sport at this time, with great value placed on individual runs, stolen bases, sacrifice bunts, and other maneuvers. Beginning today, July 8, the exhibition LEGENDS OF THE DEAD BALL ERA (1900-1919) in the Collection of Jefferson R. Burdick, on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, will feature nearly 600 historical trade cards of baseball greats from the time. The exhibition will run until December 1 and will be located in the The Henry R. Luce Center for the Study of American Art, The American Wing, mezzanine.
