Between loyal local patrons, a Gofundme campaign, and the contributions of many Alt Cabaret stars, PANGEA is still hangin' in there after ten months of the global health crisis. Everyone is pitching in to do all they can to keep the beloved home of Alt Cabaret alive and well and living in the Lower East Side.

Some of the most important playwrights and performers in avant-garde theater present staged readings of new works in progress at the intimate, ultimate downtown theatrical event: Writers Block 2016 presented by Howl! Happening: An Arturo Vega Project to showcase the vision of contemporary writers, performers and artists, many of whom got their start in the nightclubs, seminal performance spaces, and theaters in the EV/LES.

The RRazz Room, San Francisco's premier nightclub, will welcome back acclaimed entertainer Lypsinka for a special two-week engagement from tonight, September 4 to 16 to celebrate Lypsinka's 30th anniversary. She will recreate the widely popular show 'The Passion of the Crawford' - a fab fantasia about the refraction of celebrity and addiction to fame - for the first time in the Bay Area in more than five years.

First staged in 1945 and revived in 1960, the play now receives the first professional production in the city in over 50 years, directed by Michael Hardart at Metropolitan's home. Tony Award-winning actress Audra McDonald, who starred in the 2004 Broadway revival of A RAISIN IN THE SUN and currently stars in the ABC drama 'Private Practice,' attended Saturday night's benefit performance of the TWEED Fractured Classick RAISINETS IN THE SUNSHINE, presented as part of HOWL! ARTS PROJECT 2010 which continues through September 30.

Divine stars Charles Busch and Julie Halston take a night off from their own show 'The Divine Sister' to visit the HOWL! ARTS PROJECT at Theater 80 in the East Village for a benefit performance of the TWEED Fractured Classick RAISINETS IN THE SUNSHINE. Also celebrating with the cast on Friday night were restaurateur Florent Morellet and a sold-out crowd of theatergoers.
