The American musical giant Duke Ellington wrote more than 1,000 compositions in his long career, and to mark the 125th anniversary of his birth in his native city, The Kennedy Center is determined to celebrate a lot of them. 

History Theatre will present the world premiere of Diesel Heart by Brian Grandison. Inspired by Melvin Carter Jr.'s 'graphic, honest, no-holds-barred' autobiography DIESEL HEART, the adaptation to the stage will have you crying and laughing with joy.

The 85th Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade Featuring Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, produced by Associated Television Internationaland presented in associations with The City of Los Angeles, will be led this year by award-winning singer, songwriter and actress Olivia Newton-John, who will serve as Grand Marshal, and will be joined by four other Former Grand Marshals of the Parade to help celebrate this historic occasion in style, including: Mickey Mouse, Larry King, Louis Gossett Jr. and Robert Wagner.

Baby Case originally premiered at the Arden Theater Company in Philadelphia in 2001 and received four Barrymore Awards including Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical and Outstanding Original Music (with 11 nominations). In 2012 it played at the New York Musical Festival where it received the "Best of Fest" audience prize. Baby Case celebrates its regional premiere at History Theatre in Charles Lindbergh's boyhood home state of Minnesota.

History Theatre will honor the legacy of Nellie Stone Johnson, a Minnesota labor and civil rights activist who broke countless race and gender barriers during her lifetime of civil service in countless community leadership roles, running now through February 17, 2013.
