Nicholas Aaron Jenkins began performing onstage at the age of 5 in a play entitled “I Lost My Heart in Haiti.” From that play, his love of the stage grew, and eventually became a second home for him. He has been involved in theater for many years, performing in various plays throughout New York City. Nicholas' talent really stood out when he was cast in the Yiddish version of Waiting for Godot, which was performed in both New York City and in the Samuel Beckett Festival in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. He is the recipient of the 2014 AUDELCO Rising Star Award for excellence in Black Theatre - an award which he holds dear. Some of his theatre credits include Kinky Boots - both the National Tour and Broadway, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, The Wizard of Oz, The Little Mermaid, and The March on Washington. Offstage, Nicholas is a hard working Middle School student who also attends the Harlem School of the Arts, and Riverbank State Park for classes in theatre, voice, piano and acoustic guitar. He also enjoys taking ballet, jazz and tap dance classes at the Broadway Dance Center, as well as being a practicing Purple Belt at the Rising Star Dojo, which is part of the Harlem Goju Association. Though he is an active 12-year-old with a busy schedule, Nicholas always takes time to enjoy life simply by reading, playing games, seeing shows, and spending time with his Mom. He is always grateful for every opportunity to perform, and is appreciative of all the love and support he receives from his family and friends as he continues to do what he loves.
