Celebrated within the jazz community as a multi-talented musician, Lisa Maxwell, finally releases a long-awaited album of her own material, dedicated to a special cohort. The lineup reads like a Who's Who of the music world (see personnel below).

With a show that is a perfect fit for holiday season and the winter ahead, Cabaret's hottest series, New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits (Producer, Stephen Hanks; Associate Producer Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD), will feature Nightclub Singer/Entrepreneur Ellen Kaye with a reprise of her hit 2010 show, Ice Wine: Songs For Christmas and Dark Winter Nights, at the Metropolitan Room on Tuesday, December 13 at 7 pm. Kaye's show will be the 16th presentation in the series, which launched in August, 2015. The Metropolitan Room is at 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues). Tickets for Ice Wine are $25 ($20 for MAC Members) with a two-drink minimum.

Ars Vitalis: The New Jersey New Music Forum at Kean University will bring Grammy Award-winning composer Carlos Franzetti to the Gene & Shelley Enlow Recital Hall on Thursday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will showcase the Cranford, NJ, resident's wide-ranging talent and will include an eclectic mix of chamber music, jazz and Latin crossover repertoire.

Earlier this week, Carnegie Hall presented Standard Time with Michael Feinstein 'The Bad and the Beautiful'- Celebrating David Raksin and Classic Film Songs. Michael Feinstein, backed by a 12-piece band conducted by Charles Prince, sang classic songs by some of Hollywood's greatest composers. Feinstein performed music by David Raskin, the composer of the themes for The Bad and the Beautiful, Laura, and other memorable films, as well as favorites by other great masters of music for the silver screen. City Theatre has packed up its shorts and hit the road for the 2014 Shorts 4 Kids School Tour that will bring engaging and fun educational programming to more than 10,000 students in 30 schools throughout Miami-Dade County. Winner of the Oscar, Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Awards, Jonathan Tunick brought back the sound of the big bands with the debut performance of The Broadway Moonlighters, featuring New York's finest musicians.
