From June 10 to 20, Kairos Italy Theater (KIT) presented the 'In Scena! Italian Theater Festival' NY, the first Italian theater festival to take place annually in all five New York City boroughs and beyond. Laura Caparrotti, Artistic Director of KIT and Founding Director of the Festival, reports that attendance was about 800 people throughout this two-week celebration of Italian theater, which was held in intimate venues in all five boroughs. Hey BroadwayWorld.com! Hello from Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, where we're deep in rehearsals for Les Miserables. This ever-popular musical is making a comeback - literally - and, no, I don't mean an uptick in ticket sales since the movie was released last December. PTC was the first regional theatre to produce Les Mis, in 2007, where it played for 10 sold-out weeks. So it's no surprise that we're here again, just six years later, bringing this amazing story to life.

Pioneer Theatre Company's Loge Gallery has held over its exhibit "Setting the Stage: Fifty Years of Pioneer Theatre Design," a collection of theatrical renderings from dozens of designers whose creations have been brought to life on the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre's main stage since its inaugural season in 1962. The display will appear during the run of PTC's season opener, In the Heights, September 14 - September 29, 2012.
