You wouldn't expect that a play that opens with one of the leads dramatically faking his own suicide would be delightfully funny and yet Harold and Maude at the Charing Cross Theatre is just that. This quirky play is an adaption of the 1971 cult classic film of the same name and features some touching quiet moments alongside many laughs.

It was the music of something beginning... Ragtime, the landmark Broadway musical, will play the Charing Cross Theatre (The Arches, Villiers Street), in London's West End, beginning October 8th and run through December 10th in a strictly limited engagement. Opening night is set for October 17th.

Hidden away in the tiny basement that is London's Jermyn Street Theatre is a new production of a relatively unknown gem of a show - Saturday Night - with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Casablanca screenwriters, Philip G. and Julius J. Epstein. And in the intimate theatrical world created for the piece by director Tom Littler the gem glistens and gleams with delight.
