Immersive Political Comedy CONVENTION To Get World Premiere At Brooklyn's Irondale


After three years of development, beginning immediately after the 2016 Presidential election that left the democratic constituency of the United States in a state of shock, the new immersive comedy Convention will make its world premiere this summer at Brooklyn's very own Irondale (85 S. Oxford Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217), located just steps from BAM.   Convention will begin performances Friday, June 7, and play a strictly limited engagement through Saturday, June 29. An opening night has been set for Thursday, June 13 at 8:00pm.

Directed and choreographed by Sarah Sutliff, with musical direction by Christina Bottley, EDNA THE STOMPER begins performances today, September 2nd as a part of the Chicago Fringe Festival's Kid's Fringe. The performance schedule is 9/2 at 4:00PM, 9/3 at 1:00PM, and 9/4 at 2:30PM. Performances are at Jefferson Playhouse (4766 N Milwaukee Avenue Chicago, IL 60630). Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for children. To purchase tickets visit www.chicagofringe.org

Royal Players to Stage THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER THE MUSICAL


The Royal Players and Middlebrooks Electric are excited to announce the upcoming production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer the Broadway Musical, based on the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer written by Mark Twain. The Royal Players will present this classic story on April 20th-23rd and April 27th-30th at The Royal Theatre at 111 S. Market St. in Benton.

The Community Player wrap up their 95th season with Robert Harling's comedy/drama, 'Steel Magnolias'. set in 1980's Chinquapin, Louisiana, the action takes place in Tryvy's beauty salon, where all the important women in town gather on Saturdays for hair care, gossip and support. Through clouds of hairspray and over the buzz of hairdryers, six wsouthern belles full of sass and brass enjoy devoted friendships and non-stop laughter. 'Steel Magnolias' is a laugh-filled story that touches on love, loss and enduring friendship.

BWW Reviews: Next Stop Broadway's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST IN CONCERT at the Capitol Theatre


Jarrett Koski's direction is tight and imaginative, and though we may miss certain perks that would come with a full-scale production of the show, the concert version is simply stunning.
