On Saturday, August 28, 2021, I saw THE SUBURBS, a three segment show, each segment written by a different writer, including Catherine Yu, Tony Meneses, and Phanésia Pharel, respectively. All three stories are directed by Kholoud Sawaf.  With THE SUBURBS, Thrown Stone has presented a world premiere, which furthermore is a roving production set in three different venues, which in sequence include Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and West Lane Inn.

Midsommer Flight's FOURTEEN LINES recording launch party has been moved to Uncommon Ground Edgewater. The event is relocated following abrupt closure of Uptown Underground on Tuesday. The Monday, September 17 benefit party celebrating the release of Midsommer Flight's first stand-alone album of twelve Shakespearean sonnets set to music - originally scheduled to be held at Uptown Underground - has been moved to Uncommon Ground - Edgewater, at 1401 W. Devon Ave.

The production is directed by Lavina Jadhwani, with original music and music direction by Gabriel Ruiz and choreography by Tommy Rapley. Building upon its success in creating original music for its productions, Midsommer Flight has developed its first stand-alone album of twelve Shakespearean sonnets set to music composed by Midsommer Flight ensemble members Elizabeth Rentfro and Erick Rivera. Rentfro and Rivera have written original music for many of the company's productions, including its popular music-infused annual Twelfth Night each December.

Midsommer Flight, a professional not-for-profit theatre company that was one of five Finalists for this year's League of Chicago Theatres Emerging Theatre Award, is staging Shakespeare's Twelfth Night for the third consecutive holiday season, complete with its acclaimed musical score. The comedy is being performed in the Show House room at the Lincoln Park Conservatory, 2391 N. Stockton Drive, for three weekends - from November 30 December 17, 2017. The production is part of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Night Out in the Parks initiative that provides world-class performances in Chicago's neighborhood parks throughout the year.
