New York Theatre Workshop announced today Tools for An Artist in Process, a masterclass series created by Dominican Artists Collective (DAC), one of NYTW’s Companies-in-Residence and produced in partnership with Oye Group (Modesto Flako Jimenez, Founder/Artistic Director; Kevin Torres, Managing Director).

UrbanTheater Company (UTC) and Teatro Aguijon announced today they will be staging two separate productions of Not for Sale, Guadalis Del Carmen's powerful play about gentrification, as a result of a unique and groundbreaking collaboration. Recently revised by Del Carmen, UTC will present the English-language version of the play, directed by Dominizuelan's Wendy Mateo from March 8 to April 7 at UrbanTheater Company @ Batey Urbano, 2620 W. Division St. on the Paseo Boricua in the heart of Humboldt Park. Teatro Aguijon will present the Spanish-language version translated and directed by Marcela Muñoz in mid-April at their home base, 2707 N. Laramie.

The next Madness of the season will take place during the Estrogenius Festival at The Kraine and will feature a line-up of female-identifying Latinx playwrights. It will take place on Sunday, March 31st at 8pm at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery).

The One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF) and INTAR continue their acclaimed collaboration with The 6th Annual INTAR One-Minute Play Festival, with part of the proceeds to benefit UNIT 52, INTAR's training program for emerging artists. Following sold-out performances in more than twenty cities, this festival aims to celebrate Latinx voices and investigate the cultural zeitgeist through this exciting process.

Quick Silver Theater Company, now in its second year, will focus on playwrights of color. Their first project in the new year will be a Playwrights of Color Summit (POCS). QST's submission process took place at the end of 2015. Founder Tyrone Mitchell Henderson says, "The submissions that we received are all beautiful meditations on themes that include spirituality, community, love and its many forms, race, religion and radicalism."

The CHICAGO ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns with a twist: the sixth annual event will celebrate the works of all women and women-identified playwrights and directors. The marathon evening of one-minute plays by more than 70 of Chicago's established and emerging playwrights and directors will play two nights only, Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. terraNOVA Collective and The Playground Theater, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, are pleased to announce the world premiere of DON CHIPOTLE by Juan Francisco Villa (Empanada for a Dream), directed by Jo Cattell. A new Latino superhero is born in this epic coming-of-age adventure, told through theatre, puppetry, animation, music and a children's choir. DON CHIPOTLE will play August 25 - September 27, 2015 at the Storefront Theater, 66 E. Randolph St. in Chicago.
